Habibganj Express collides with goods train in Gwalior

A major mishap was averted after Bhopal Express, also known as Shaan-e-Bhopal Express (Habibganj-Hazrat Nizamuddin) collided with a derailed coach of a goods train in Birla Nagar railway station in Gwalior in the wee hours of Friday.

Some people who suffered minor injury in the accident have been shifted to a nearby hospital. No casualties have been reported as yet.

The incident took place at around 3.15 am in the morning. After the accident, rail track connecting Delhi to South India has been completely closed.

A relief train was rushed to the spot at 7 am to clear the track. Senior Railway officials are also at the site to take stock of the situation.

Meanwhile, in another incident, a fire broke out in the canteen at Gwalior railway station today. Fire is under control now and no casualties or injuries were reported in the incident.
