As a fresh Western Disturbance is approaching the North soon, rain and thundershower activities are expected over Punjab and Haryana by February 18.

The rains will continue for the next couple of days with a good intensity. Intense activity will occur over the region on February 20 and 21 when we expect widespread moderate to heavy thundershower with strong gusty winds and hailstorm.

The prevailing Western Disturbance and the affecting Cyclonic Circulation have now moved away eastwards. At present, northwesterly winds are prevailing over the entire Northwest Plains. Another fresh Western Disturbance is expected to affect the area by February 18.

During the last 24 hours, light rain was observed over a few parts of Punjab and Haryana the intensity of which was mainly light.

Dense fog was observed in few parts today morning. Due to obscured sky conditions and cool winds, day temperature dropped significantly over Haryana while a few parts of Punjab observed a rise in temperature by 2 to 3 degree Celsius. The day temperatures are close to 19-20 degree Celsius.

Tomorrow, mainly dry weather is expected to prevail over the region. Morning temperatures may drop marginally however, day temperatures may rise.
