Four agreements were signed to enhance the cooperation between Croatia and India, Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic said on Wednesday.

The agreements covered the fields of agriculture, culture, science and a cooperation agreement between the University of Zagreb and partners in India, especially regarding the study of Indology, Plenkovic told a press conference after he met with PM Narendra Modi.

Plenkovic said that the current trade between the two countries stood at around 250 million U.S. dollars last year and “it is the basis” for even greater bilateral trade volume.

Modi voiced his desire to boost bilateral ties between India and Croatia.

“We will establish a plan that will focus not only on training and exchange, but also on the entire defense industry,” Modi said, adding that the two sides also agreed to enhance cooperation in the sectors of pharmaceutical, agriculture, information technology, renewable energy and semiconductors.
