First Australian made rocket crashes at lift off

The first orbital rocket designed and fabricated in Australia crashed just 14 seconds after lift off.

This was the first test flight of this purely Australian made rocket. This rocket launched by Gilmour Space Technologies, called Eris, lifted off the ground before losing velocity and momentum and came down crashing.

Plumes of white smoke then started to rise at Bowen Orbital Spaceport in North Queensland. The Gilmour Space Technologies described the test of the orbital rocket as a “ giant leap “ for a country like Australia in its Space capability.

It has been confirmed that there was no loss of life or property in this inaugural launch which resulted in failure. The next rocket should be ready for launch in 6 to 8 months.

Well Australians need not get disheartened. All Space Powers …Russia, USA, China. India have had their share of failures even while launching satellites weighing several tons. EU and Japan too have gone through failures in their quest to enter Space.

Australian Company Gilmour Space Technologies can certainly approach a Japanese Company Ispace to get insight into rocket technology for civilian use or the Govt of Australia can approach Govt of India for help from ISRO.
