Air Chief Marshal Birender Singh Dhanoa will be on an official visit to Myanmar and Malaysia from 03 September to boost India’s military ties with its eastern neighbours. It is a very timely visit in light of the UN Human Rights Report on Rohangiyas. Some Countries want to prosecute the Army Generals in the Myanmar political set up for the imagined genocide.

This visit is like a warning to all such mischief mongers that no such destabilization of Myanmar will be permitted by India at any cost. So those countries should just lay off or invite all the Rohangiyas and settle them in their own countries.

During the visit, IAF chief is scheduled to visit various operational establishments and interact with senior functionaries of the Myanmar and Malaysian air forces. The visit will be beneficial for enhancing the strong camaraderie and partnership that the nations and their Air Forces share.

Presently, areas of cooperation between India and the two countries include exchanges in military training course, mutual visits by subject matter experts and joint air exercises. Malaysia is interested in getting training and maintenance issues sorted out for their Sukhois and India is interested in getting hold of their MIG 29s, so that they can join the IAF after up gradation.

During the visit, IAF chief is scheduled to visit various operational establishments and interact with senior functionaries of the Myanmar and Malaysian air forces. The main focus would be to share ideas, enhance mutual engagement and promote understanding, the statement said.

“The visit of the IAF chief would provide further impetus towards increasing defence cooperation between the air forces and pave the way for greater interaction in future.”
