Israel to strike ‘sevenfold’ in response to Ben Gurion shelling

Previously, the Israel Defense Forces delivered strikes on Houthi targets in Yemen about three months ago

Israel will deliver a retaliatory “sevenfold” strike on those attacking it, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said following the fall of debris of a missile launched from Yemen in the vicinity of Ben Gurion airport near Tel Aviv.

“Whoever harms us, we will strike them sevenfold,” the Times of Israel newspaper quoted him as saying.

Falling fragments of a missile were registered in the vicinity of Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv following a shelling attack from Yemen, the press service of the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) said.

“Following the sirens that sounded in a number of areas in Israel, several attempts were made to intercept the missile launched from Yemen.

A fall was identified in the area of Ben-Gurion Airport,” it said in a statement. “The incident is under review,” the army press service added.

According to Radio Kan, the airport closed its airspace for arrivals and departures following the attack but has reopened it since.

Air raid sirens sounded in a number of Israeli regions, warning about an attack from Yemen, including in Tel Aviv.

Previously, the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) delivered strikes on Houthi targets in Yemen about three months ago.

The Air India Flight to Tel Aviv got diverted in nick of time.
