Major Security lapse in USA, two Israeli diplomats killed

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar confirmed that the deceased embassy staff members were Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim
Israeli flags over the buildings of the country’s diplomatic missions around the world will be lowered as a sign of mourning after the murder of two Israeli diplomats in the US, Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar said.
“The [Israeli] Foreign Ministry in Jerusalem and Israeli missions around the world will lower their flags after the murder of our staff members,” he said during a press conference.
He confirmed that the deceased embassy staff members were Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim.
Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that he had ordered increased security measures at all Israeli diplomatic missions following the deaths of the two diplomats in Washington, D.C. Speaking about the incident, Netanyahu said that the tragedy was the result of incitement against Israel and another manifestation of antisemitism.
Associated Press reported earlier that two Israeli embassy employees were killed in a shooting outside the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C. According to the city’s police chief Pamela Smith, the deceased diplomats were a man and a woman. They were leaving an event at the museum when the 30-year-old suspect opened fire. Smith said that the detainee shouted the slogan “Free Palestine” during the arrest.
US Attorney General Pam Bondi said that she had already visited the scene, the news agency pointed out.
US President Donald Trump on his Truth Social page slammed the shooting in Washington as “antisemitism.” US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on his X page that the incident was “a brazen act of cowardly, antisemitic violence” and promised to find the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
