Sajith Premadasa meets Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla

Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa met with Om Birla, Speaker of the Lok Sabha, for a productive discussion focused on deepening parliamentary cooperation and sharing procedural best practices.

Both leaders exchanged views on enhancing institutional professionalism, strengthening legislative research, and promoting youth engagement within their respective parliaments. They agreed to advance collaboration between the Parliament of Sri Lanka and the Lok Sabha through structured exchanges, study visits, and capacity-building initiatives.

Following the discussions, the Office of the Speaker extended a detailed tour of the new Lok Sabha Complex to the Opposition Leader, showcasing its state-of-the-art facilities and fully digital, paperless parliamentary operations, a model of modernization and efficiency in legislative governance.
