Terrorist Hafiz Saeed’s new plot to attack India via Bangladesh: Jaish-e-Mohammed forms female suicide squad in Kashmir

By Tajul Islam

India’s national security apparatus is fully alert amid alarming new intelligence inputs. On one side, Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) chief and internationally designated terrorist Hafiz Saeed is reportedly planning to launch attacks on India using Bangladesh as an operational base. On the other, terrorist Masood Azhar’s Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) has created a female suicide squad aimed at escalating violence in Jammu and Kashmir.

These parallel threats have prompted Indian intelligence agencies to issue a high alert along the India–Bangladesh border.

Lashkar-e-Taiba’s new strategy: Turning to Bangladesh

The latest revelations regarding LeT’s plans emerged from a video of a rally held on October 30 in Khairpur Tamewali, Pakistan. In the video, LeT’s senior commander Saifullah Saif openly declared:

“Hafiz Saeed is not sitting quietly; he is preparing to attack India through Bangladesh.”

Saif further claimed that LeT militants are already active in what he referred to as “East Pakistan” – meaning Bangladesh – and are preparing to retaliate for India’s Operation Sindoor.

According to intelligence officials, Hafiz Saeed has dispatched one of his close associates, Ibtisam Elahi Zahir, to Bangladesh. His mission is to radicalize local youths, recruit them under the guise of “jihad,” and facilitate their training for future operations.

A particularly disturbing detail from Saif’s rally was the presence of a large number of children, indicating that LeT is attempting to influence and indoctrinate the young. The commander also claimed:

“America is now with us, and Bangladesh is coming closer to Pakistan.”

Experts believe such statements are propaganda aimed at boosting the morale of sympathizers and masking LeT’s actual operational weaknesses.

Jaish-e-Mohammed’s disturbing move: A women’s suicide squad

In a parallel development, Jaish-e-Mohammed has established a women’s wing named Jamaat-ul-Mominat, headed by Sadia Azhar, sister of JeM founder Masood Azhar. Under her supervision, women are reportedly receiving training for suicide missions.

Sadia’s husband, Yousuf Azhar, a key JeM commander, was killed at the group’s Bahawalpur base during India’s Operation Sindoor, making her an influential figure within the organization.

Jaish confirmed the formation of its women’s wing through its Telegram channel ‘Al-Qalam Media’. The group has been spreading misinformation, alleging that Indian airstrikes have killed numerous women, in an effort to evoke sympathy and encourage more female recruits.
Intelligence reports suggest that the new suicide squad is being built by targeting:

Wives of Jaish commanders, and
Economically vulnerable women from madrassas run by JeM.
This marks one of the most alarming shifts in JeM’s recruitment strategy in recent years.

India’s security response

Following these reports, Indian security agencies have intensified surveillance across sensitive zones, with particular focus on the India–Bangladesh border, a region historically exploited by cross-border terror networks.

Officials warn that Pakistan-based militant organizations are working in coordination to exploit Bangladesh’s geographic proximity to India while expanding their recruitment pool by using women and children as operational tools.

Security experts view this as an escalation in asymmetric warfare and a clear indication that both LeT and JeM are trying to reshape their strategies as international pressure tightens around them.

The twin threats posed by LeT and JeM – one expanding its footprint into Bangladesh and the other weaponizing women – represent a new and dangerous phase in the terror landscape confronting India.

As intelligence agencies remain on high alert, regional cooperation with Bangladesh and robust internal counterterrorism measures will be crucial to neutralizing these evolving threats.
