Threatening India with American CAATSA is becoming a big joke

Imagine a former USA National Security Advisor acting like a dolt. Well, John Bolton, who briefly served as national security adviser to Trump, like week did just that by writing an article warning of the risk of India proceeding with the purchase of the S-400.

What does he think of himself and his country, that they can threaten India with an American Law and impose sanctions. Please do go ahead with it and then harvest the bitter results. Imposing of any Sanction by USA on India will boomerang badly on the gasping Super Power itself.

Bolton wrote in some obscure Paper that India’s purchase of S-400 risked “compromising America’s stealth technology or jeopardising seemingly mundane but often critical issues of interoperability among national militaries”. He forgets that that India and USA are not military allies. Whatever we have bought from USA we have paid with our hard earned money. So USA is in no position to dictate to US. In case USA does not want to sell its weapon systems then fine, we will develop it ourselves in the long run and by it from somewhere else in the short term.

Bolton wrote it was “unfathomable in why India would acquire the same system China was buying, risking that Beijing’s cyber warriors, perhaps exploiting Moscow-inserted back doors, could cripple their defences in a crisis”. Bolton argued Washington D.C. should set stringent conditions on granting India a waiver such as “an agreed-upon timeline and metrics to reduce Indian purchases of sophisticated Russian weapons systems, regular Quad consultations on meeting these targets and more extensive politico-military planning for Indo-Pacific threats, thereby shaping future procurement requirements”.

Imagine now people like Bolton giving advice to India as to what systems to acquire and from where. He has in fact accepted his being a dolt by stating “ Indian actions are unfathomable “.

Bolton even argued in favour of a partnership like the recent AUKUS arrangement involving the US, UK and Australia. “America, Japan, Australia and others also could offer opportunities for defence cooperation with India along the lines of the AUKUS project on nuclear-powered submarines, to enhance India’s own domestic weapons productions,” Bolton wrote. Boltonji must keep such ideas to himself. Dies he think India will join AUKUS and become a lackey of USA …..sorry Boltonji, India didn’t do this even after the 1962 war with China, when Pit was as its weakest in all spheres.

A Russian official Dmitry Shugaev, director of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSMTC), has already announced that Russia has begun delivery of the S-400 surface-to-air missile system to India. The news was announced on the sidelines of the Dubai Air Show. India had signed this deal with Russia for the advanced system in 2018. This was done despite all the tantrums thrown around by the US. They even displayed their full arrogance by threatening sanctions if India went ahead with the purchase.

“The supplies of the S-400 air defence system to India have started and are proceeding on schedule,” Shugaev said. The S-400 uses multiple types of surface-to-air missiles to shoot down aircraft, cruise missiles and even some types of ballistic missiles.

News agency ANI reported that the S-400 systems have started reaching India. It has even claimed that the first S-400 systems would be deployed at a location on the western border, from where it can tackle airborne threats from both Pakistan and China. Well the surveillance range of one S400 system is a radius of 600km ie it can cover a diametric length if 1200km.

Donald Trump administration had been trumpeting the threat of CAATSA and this Joe Biden dispensation has also been bidding the same lines. Now that India has started receiving the S-400 System, USA should impose sanctions or just shut up and apologize to India.
