Rahul Gandhi said at the Chennai rally that it is unbearable to see the Tamil Nadu CM being forced to bow down.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Sunday hit out at PM Modi and Amit Shah saying they have made Tamil Nadu CM E Palaniswami bow down before them and touch PM Modi’s feet. Rahul Gandhi said it is unbearable to see Tamil Nadu being forced to bow down.

Speaking at an election rally in Chennai, Rahul Gandhi said, “I saw a picture of an elected representative touching the feet of Amit Shah. The only relationship possible in BJP is where you have to touch the feet of the leader of BJP, bow down before Narendra Modi or Amit Shah.”

“When I see the Prime Minister controlling Tamil Nadu CM, making him touch his feet silently, I’m not ready to accept it. Tamil Nadu CM doesn’t want to bow in front of Amit Shah but he is forced to because of the corruption he has done,” said Rahul Gandhi in Chennai.

Rahul Gandhi went on to recollect that a junior Congress leader had recently joined the BJP and he came across a picture of him meeting Amit Shah.

“I can’t bear to see the CM of Tamil Nadu, a state of such a great language and tradition, touching the feet, bowing in front of Amit Shah and Narendra Modi,” said Rahul Gandhi at the election rally.

He added, “It made me angry that the leader is bowing in front of these people. And that is why I’m here today. I want a relationship with the Tamil people that is equal.”

“But there is one difference. If I say Tamil Nadu is India, I’ll also have to accept that India is Tamil Nadu. For me, an India where Tamil Nadu is forced to bow down is not India, it is something else,” he said.
