Chinese Border Laws: Creating Historical Records For the Rise of China

By Colonel Krityanand Das

Sometimes back China published her Border Laws of few sections but filled with many articles! Chinese have a very good habit of writing fanciful historical records. That is what their Literati elites were selected, taught, trained and retained for.

This may be one of their habits of the long lingering past still continuing. Otherwise also, their every claim is supported by some old historical records of this and that dynasty. Half their dynasties were established either by some Hun,Turk or Mongol conquerors from the Steppe, hidden under some Chinese characters making them sound the like an ethnic Han Dynasty!6

For quite a while Chinese were hopping around with package deals for every claimed territory ! But now all claimed territories have become unalienable and sacred territories of an Atheist State!

China certainly has no respect for Tibetan territory. They entered Aksai Chin when India was busy in after partition quarrels and combats with Pakistan, and constructed road through Aksaichin to strengthen its hold on Tibet. Then she laid claim on Arunachal Pradesh and threw a bait for exchange as well with Aksaichin.

Now that communications have greatly improved in the east, Arunachal Pradesh has become the South Tibet and even a “Sacred ” territory as per the new law of an Atheist State!

Same trick they are trying in Bhutan now, since long they laid claim on western side so as to reach close to Siliguri Chicken Neck to threaten Indian NE. And it is now claiming on a territory on Bhutanese eastern boundary with a leverage to exchange it with old claimed territory on the west in Doklam valley.

So China keep changing its stances like its fanciful “historical claims”.

This trait of China is part of its civilisational flaw. It grew generally in an isolation unlike other great civilisational states of Asia, Africa and Europe of ancient time. It dealt only with marauding nomads of the steppe. It’s books of great teachers are full of tricks of how to deal with them. It included every thing bribe, bride and when all fails then battle.

Unfortunately it applies same trick in present day as well. Two civilisational states that is India and China retain a continuity, have become neighbors just for some 70 odd years now. And donot know how to go about the new situation that they are in.

All Chinese travellers who came to India went back with tons of manuscripts and seeds of plants, flowers, herbs and grains.Whereas all those who went from India to China mostly never came back. And therefore India really doesn’t know China. Where as China knows India too well!

A continental size country like India has to grow well economically and militarily to deal with situations on its own. And go for allies with out fear when the situation so demand.

Fortunately Covid has exposed China well and she has lost much of the good will across the globe. And the economic conditions of many African nations, Greece, Pakistan and Sri Lanka has exposed its BRI as mere debt trap.

India needs to gather this new anti China wind in its sail and resist Chinese tricks. Xi is an alcoholic like most northern Chinese leaders and is capable like them to lead their captive population to unwanted deaths and destructions without remorse. Millions died few decades back following Mao’s fanciful economic endeavors and social reforms like Great Leap Forward and Cultural Revolution. It can be repeated again.

China has Border problems with all its neighbors and keeps popping up new ones with drop of a hat with ” historical kitchup ” to suit Chinese need of economic benefits and strategical values. These will keep cropping up as long as Chinese Rise isn’t knocked off by the rest of the world.

It will be only solved when the Chinese leave the countries it occupies around its traditional 16 states of “China Proper” of the past.

It is sad that India has to put its meger resources to raise its military might to match that of China and out maneuver it.These resources would have gone into raising the the standard of living of its millions of its population.

The present crisis in the Himalayas, in the South China Sea and in the eastern Europe are but the symptoms of the disease called the Rise of China.

But choices are limited. India cannot repeat the follies that its leaders did in fifties and early sixties. It will certainly will be suicidal and foolish to not prepare for the fight and win. The consequences of a defeat is well known and humiliations still felt so disgraceful and disturbing.
