Farmers’ protest enters 100th day, protesters to block KMP expressway

As the farmer agitation against the Centre’s three farm laws enters its 100th day on Saturday, the protesting farmer unions have decided to observe March 6 as ‘Black Day’. The protesting farmers will also block the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway for five hours today.

The chakka jam at Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway will start at 11 am and continue till 3 pm. The protesting farmers’ unions have asserted that the chakka jam will be peaceful. Reiterating their demands for the repeal of the three farm laws,

Dhiraj Singh, a farmer union leader, said, “Our protest will be peaceful and no harm will be done to any person or property. The chakka jam at KMP Expressway will start at 11 am and will end by 3 pm.” “It is a mark of protest against the three farm bills which we want the government to repeal immediately,” Dhiraj Singh told New Agemcy.

Rakesh Tikait of the Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) said they are prepared to continue the protest as long as it is required. “we are completely prepared. Unless and until the government listens to us and meets our demands, we will not move from here,” Rakesh Tikait, among the leaders at the forefront of the movement, told PTI.
