India increases imports from Russia by 60% in 7 months

Russia took second place among the leading suppliers of the country

India increased imports from Russia in the first seven months of the 2023 fiscal year (started April 1) by 60% year-on-year, PTI agency reported with reference to data from the Ministry of Commerce.

The total volume of imports from Russia in the reporting period amounted to $36.3 bln, while in the same period in the 2022 fiscal year it reached $22.1 bln. Russia took second place among the leading suppliers of the country.

China, which exported more than $60 bln worth of goods and services to India in the current financial year, was first, and the UAE third with $24.9 bln (-21% compared to the 2022 financial year). The United States, having supplied approximately $20 mln less goods, found itself in fourth place (-16%).
