Dismissing Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s clarification on the alleged dream sequence in Padmavati as a “cheap PR stunt”, the Rajput Karni Sena has threatened large-scale violence if the film’s release goes ahead as planned.
In an exclusive sting by Republic TV’s correspondent Varun Bhansali, Chatrapal Singh, State VP of Karni Sena, stated that they will do whatever they can to vandalise cinema halls if the film releases in theatres.

Varun Bhansali, Correspondent : All the big distributors have refused?
Chatrapal Singh, State VP, Karni Sena: Yes they know the reason. The letter that the leader sent.I’ve informed my family, children.
Varun: But there is one thing. Suppose something happens, what step will you take?

Varun: Now, Sanjay Leela Bhansali has released a video saying that there is nothing.
Chatrapal Singh, State VP, Karni Sena:He just wants to gain sympathy. Nothing else. He is just trying to get cheap PR. If you are true, why aren’t you showing it to the historians? You just want to be like Ashutosh Gowarikar who went to the Rani and showed everything to her. Why isn’t he going to Mewad family and royal Jaipur family ? Why is he not going to historians? When he has given us a written statement. His CEO came down to Jaipur and signed an agreement between Karni Sena and Bhansali side. It has 5 points, that he is not going to give release date. He will show everything. This is that agreement.
The film, starring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor, is set to release on December 1.
