Kashmir Witnessing Record Tourist Footfall

General D P Pandey, General Officer Commanding the Chinar Corps headquartered I Srinagar has confirmed that infiltration attempts into the Valley from POK and Pakistan Occupied Baltistan Area are presently very low or next to nil. ” The numbers have gone down this year. We are vigilant and totally prepared to ensure that no one is able to sneak in,” said General Pandey.

The Chinar Corps also informed that the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir was witnessing a record footfall of tourists this year, as there has been a significant reduction in separatist backed incidents of stone-pelting, protests or bandhs in the UT.

General DP Pandey said today, “A record number of tourists came here last year. There has been a reduction in stone-pelting, protests or bandhs. Terrorist recruitment has come down. Youth have realised that they make them fools by providing them guns.”

As the network of Separatists and their support group has been badly broken up and starved of funding, their activities have slowed down markedly. Even terror groups are so desperate that they are trying to recruit young children aged just 15-16 years.
