No one bothered about stale Samosa ‘Caucus’ in India, USA must first arrest American Terrorist Panun

In a move which most Indians consider a naïve but highly amusing action all five members of the so-called ‘Samosa Caucus’ in the US Congress have warned New Delhi regarding the Pannun murder plot.

These so called “ Indian Americans “ should by now know that only jokers can have the audacity to issue any kind of warning to India.

These Congressmen should instead advice the Biden Administration to immediately arrest their backyard terrorist Pannun who is an American citizen. By not arresting him, USA is becoming a sponsorer of terrorism.

Also no action on Panun by Biden can have damaging impact on the US-India ties if American citizens like Pannun are encouraged to openly sponsor terrorism against India. We Indians demand that no American citizen or any one residing in USA repeat such incidents on American soil as being done by Pannun and his gang on continuous basis.

Instead of asking Biden to take action, these five US Congressmen have chosen to call on New Delhi to actively investigate American terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun’s alleged murder plot or be ready for the severing of the India-US ties.

Amy Bera, Pramila Jayapal, Ro Khanna, Raja Krishnamoorthi and Shri Thanedar — all Democrats who serve in the House of Representatives from diverge geographies and are members of key legislative committees — said the US administration had provided them a classified briefing on the terrorist Pannun and indictment of Nikhil Gupta who has been illegally detained by Czech Republic.

Bera, a representative from California, is on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, where he is a ranking member of the subcommittee on Indo-Pacific, besides being a member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. Khanna, also from California, is the co-chair of the House India caucus and a member of the House Armed Services Committee. Krishnamoorthi, a representative from Illinois, is the ranking member of the House Select Committee on the strategic competition between the US and the Chinese Communist Party as well as the House Intelligence Committee. Jayapal, an elected representative from Washington state, is the chair of the House Progressive Caucus. And Thanedar is the newest Indian-American member of the US Congress, elected last year from Michigan.

We Indians are fully aware of the fact that these five leaders, in varying degrees and at different times, have expressed “concerns about India’s domestic political record”, with Jayapal being the most critical, source of support for the bilateral relationship on the Hill. The fact that the administration has briefed these leaders by design, and they have deliberately issued a statement expressing a warning to India, illustrates how the allegations can become a bigger issue both on the Hill and within the diaspora, even as both governments have sought to ensure it doesn’t interrupt the momentum in bilateral ties.

Govt of India has already ordered a probe into this affair of an American terrorist Pannun, also now the Indian Supreme Court too is looking into a case of an outright illegal detention of an Indian by Czech Govt and his probable extradition to USA which will again be an illegal action. The five “Samosas “ have even welcomed India’s announcement of a committee of enquiry to investigate the murder plot.

However we Indians are of the view that not only these five “stale samosas “ but the entire USA should know that India too has the right to take action as deemed fit against any terrorist who operates against India, no matter where they are located and no matter to which country they belong to. Has USA forgotten its own action against Osama Bin Laden and such others ? Also USA must be aware by now that who will lose more if Ties go sour !!!!

All five serving Indian-American members of the US Congress, were given a secret briefing by the US administration by design. Where these Congressmen have gone wrong is their warning that unless India investigates and holds those responsible for plotting an assassination of an American citizen on American soil accountable, it can cause “significant damage” to the “very consequential” India-US bilateral partnership…….Well then USA should start worrying about the damage that will start happening.

American Terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun is an American-Canadian dual citizen who India has designated as a terrorist

They have also sought a clear assurance from India that such an incident will never occur again. Well they should first ask Biden to give such an assurance that USA soil will not be used for any anti India activities even by American citizens.

Last month, the US Department of Justice unsealed an indictment that implicated a serving Indian government official for orchestrating the plot and seeking to assassinate terrorist Pannun in June this year through Gupta, who, in turn, hired a hitman who turned out to be an undercover agent for US law enforcement. India responded by acknowledging that it had received inputs from the US and announced the constitution of a high-level investigation committee to examine the issue.

India in fact should also take up the issue with Czech Republic too for illegal detention of Gupta. In case he is illegally extradited then reciprocal action must be taken against all involved.

The Biden Administration too must announce a committee of enquiry to investigate the Pannun plot to destabilize India. It is critical that USA fully investigate, and hold those responsible, including its government officials, accountable, and provide assurances that this will not happen again.
