Pakistan terrified with Indian Military’s Embrace of artificial intelligence

India has launched a series of ambitious technological initiatives in space and in emerging Artificial Intelligence technologies through these initiatives. Even USA is trying to strengthen partnership with India in various fields.

Recently Jake Sullivan, the US national security adviser, met his Indian counterpart Ajit Doval in Washington to discuss cooperation between the two giants in quantum technology, artificial intelligence, 5G technology and semiconductors. They also talked about working out a mechanism for joint weapon production on lines of BRAHMOS Corporation between Russia and India.

This Initiative on Critical and Emerging Technology is a move by the US to jointly work with India and thus move faster than China in emerging technologies. Naturally this type of collaboration is going to have a long-lasting positive impact on the strategic stability of the entire world. When BRAHMOS was formed, India had just about carved a prominent place for itself in the Missile Technology Club. Today it is in leadership position in missile technology.

So a similar collaboration with the Americans will propel India into leadership position in AI, Space technology and other emerging technologies. This help India to ensure proper equilibrium among Japan, China, Russia and USA, thus maintain strategic stability in the entire world.

Quantum technology is at an early stage of development, which will have far-reaching consequences in development of future weapon systems. Quantum computers will soon overtake current encryption and make them redundant. In fact quantum sensors could help in disrupting a country’s second-strike capability. In 2021, The Indian Army had announced the establishment of a quantum laboratory at the Military College of Telecommunication Engineering to develop secure communication in 2021 itself.

Artificial intelligence is another area where India has been moving ahead at a rapid pace and cooperation with the US on this technology has the potential to reshape strategic stability in the entire world. AI is a dual-use technology which will India greatly in the military domain. Through advanced AI systems the kinetic warfare system with duly automated network platforms can obliterate enemy positions through rapid manoeuvring and firepower. There are numerous other applications in logistics, intelligence and communications.

The Defence Artificial Intelligence Council of MoD is already there to provide the necessary guidance on AI matters. As per published reports India already has advanced technologies which includes storm drones, drone feed analysis, seeker monitoring and analysis systems, Mandarin translators, a motion and object detection system and a vehicle tracking system. A government press release also outlined other areas which include autonomous uncrewed robotic systems, blockchain-based automation systems, command, control and communication and lethal autonomous weapon systems.

on the other, with Pakistan, these initiatives increase the risk of accidents and miscalculations between two nuclear-armed neighbours.

Now seeing all the above Pakistan already gone nearly bankrupt as a country, has become very jittery too. It has now realized that India is quite at par with China in everything and will be overtaking it. So Pakistan now knows that crying wolf over NUCLEAR WAR in South Asia will be of no use. It cannot threaten India with a pre-emptive nuclear strike. They will be detected well in time and neutralized on the ground itself.

In fact AI will soon become an essential part of Strategic decision-making and also enhance early warning systems. Then India sensing any mischief by Pakistan may itself carry out pre-emptive strikes.

As India has not much desire to nullify the 1947 Partition and eradicate the Radcliffe Line drawn by the British therefore for Pakistan the best bet will be to give up its nuclear weapons. Also hand over the illegally occupied parts of India.
