Unto Eternity : (Part : 2)

(A Poignant Love Story, inspired by Thai Folk Love)

By

Colonel Surinder Bhatia

And finally, Sengpong arrived and was received at the jetty by Pedro. He was a tall, well built, shy young man with somewhat rustic looks and a frugal attire. He was much beholden to his uncle for his kindness and support and would do anything to please him. Pedro instantly resolved to equip the young lad for the big event— The Governor’s visit.

Pedro was still lost in his thoughts as they reached the main porch and Sengpong rushed upstairs. At the first landing he nearly collided into Eida who was rushing in the opposite direction. He was stunned by her beauty and as he stuttered to say “Hello..there..,” Pedro stepped in and hastened to add “…aunty”.

Sengpong nearly blushed as Eida stroked his cheeks tenderly. “He is your charge for the next fortnight” announced Pedro firmly. Pedro wished Sengpong would learn the fine nuances of life and sex, shed his crude rustic image and be more polished and romantic, to squarely match Lenova — The Governor’s pretty daughter.

Who else but Eida could achieve the miracle in just about a fortnight? “No stops- do you understand” quipped Pedro as he side-glanced Eida. “That shall be playing with fire” said Eida almost excitedly. “Only playing” cautioned Pedro. “Yes of course” she affirmed. No questions asked thereafter. The waltzing lessons for young Sengpong started from the very first night after his arrival at Oceana.

He was a rookie but then Eida was a perfect coach. He was overwhelmed by her majestic charm and elegance. Her soft fragrance filled his entire being as he yielded readily and unconditionally into her waiting arms. He was in a kind of drunken stupor as he waltzed, his head sometime resting gently on her bosom. Pedro was much relieved to see that Eida had accepted the challenge in the right earnest.

As the days passed, there was more urgency and passion in their waltzing. They were at it even at odd hours. The romance of a rare perfection had kindled a desire to go on and on.

Amalgam of raw and untapped vigour of Sengpong and the serene tranquility of Eida was doing wonders. Sengpong’s transformation into a handsome, well-mannered and cultured young man was bewildering. Even Eida was getting mesmerized.

The afternoon sessions were usually in the ante-room, sometimes in the library. Then Eida would move down to Sengpong’s chamber to further polish his sensibilities, form and responses about relationships and the philosophy of love and life.

They would often sit holding hands, exchanging and exploring the ‘sweet-nothings’ of love as the hours ticked by. They eagerly waited for these sessions. Pedro would only enter the scene at the dinner gong.

Sengpong was a keen learner too. He had read and re-read ‘Unto Eternity’ and other two books on erotica, cover-to-cover. These had been highly prescribed by Eida. At last he could summon courage to ask her naively “Do you seriously believe that love could be as fascinating and demanding?”. She looked straight into Sengpong’s eyes and held on as she said “Yes my dear, yes of course love could turn even obsessive, if so ordained.” She could unlock only after a while. Sengpong could feel the magic of love. Even Eida was getting mixed up.

And the last day before the big event, as Eida entered Sengpong’s chamber, he was half dozing while reclining on his bed. The daylong excursions to oversee the arrangements had left him fairly tired. She quietly sat down at his side running her fingers through his hair. Then, almost impulsively, she bent forward and lightly kissed Sengpong on his lips, her velveteen softness kindling fire in Sengpong. But he only half-opened his eyes and then quickly closed as if afraid to lose the passing sequence. She stayed for a while, smiled and glided away. The tutored lessons on erotica ended here.
