Europe will have serious problems with food supplies this winter

Earlier Serbian President forecasted problems with electricity supplies amid the global energy crisis

Europe will have serious problems with food supplies this winter, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic warned on Sunday.

“I expect serious problems with food supplies across all of Europe [this winter],” he said in an interview.

“Everything will be all right with us. We have enough of what people need, even more. It is good news,” he said, adding that he “takes no one’s words for anything any longer.”

He noted that he had took inventory of the stock of grain and gas with the help of Serbian special services. “This winter is under control. People will live through it and as for the next winner – some will survive but some will not,” he added.

Earlier Vucic forecasted problems with electricity supplies amid the global energy crisis, which would be followed by a war for food. He warned that gas prices at stock exchanges could reach 6,000 US dollars per 1,000- cubic meters this winter. He recalled that thanks to timely purchases of Russian gas Serbia has been spared problems with electricity supplies.
