Exploring the natural wonders of Australia

Australia is a land of oceans, islands, and excotic wildlife. The continent is home to some unique natural wonders that attract curious humans from across the globe. Every wonder here leaves people in awe and excited. From the Great Barrier Reef to the Twelve Apostles, Australia is dotted with some mesmerising natural wonders that are a part of almost every travellers’ bucket list.

The Great Barrier Reef

The Great Barrier Reef

The reef needs no introduction as it is the largest coral reef in the whole wide world covering an area of nearly 3000 sq km. The reef is known for its unique marine life and has the most complex ecological marine region. One can find rare varieties of fishes and corals.

The Twelve Apostles

The Twelve Apostles

This is basically a collection of limestone stacks near the Port Campbell National Park in Australia. The site is a popular tourist attraction and seven of the original eight stacks are still standing tall at the Twelve Apostles viewpoint. One of these collapsed in July 2005.

Lake Hillier

Lake Hillier

This is one of the prettiest natural lakes in Australian which is noted for its pink colour and looks completely otherworldly. Set on Middle Island, the lake is surrounded with nature and wildlife. Simply magical!

Ball’s Pyramid

Ball’s Pyramid is a wondrous sight to behold. This mountain island is the remnant of an ancient caldera. This 562 m high pyramid looks surreal. A number of climbers have even climbed this pyramid but permission and training is required beforehand.

Wave Rock

Wave Rock

The wave rock, as the name suggests, is a rock shaped like a wave and makes for an exotic view. Set on a single hill near Hyde, the rock has been sculpted into a perfect wave by innumerable years of wind and rain erosion. It’s one of the most visited attractions in Australia.
